When I teach yoga, do a meditation, or begin a private... I invite students/clients to set an intention for the session. In sound therapy or any healing work, the power of intent plays a critical role. Intent can be a meditation, a prayer, or some thought in your head and heart. Intentions can be goals, forms of dedication, a concept of peace or some form of honoring towards the Self... a way to facilitate healing and growth within.
That is why I believe intentions matter.
Your intentions play a critical role in how you carry yourself - emotionally, physically, mentally, and spiritually. It governs the thoughts you engage in, the words that you speak, and the actions you take to go about your day. When neglected, it can wreck havoc on your health and well-being which is the reason why "checking in" is necessary. One of the most simplest ways to check in is setting your intentions. By doing so, you can observe whether your way of being is aligned with that. If it is not aligned with your intentions, you can do something about it... with self-care and mindfulness.
