New pursuits are on the horizon and I'm anticipating the time it will be shared with you all! With these new ventures, there is the initial fear. To be honest, rarely does that fear go away completely and remains that way. The potential of sensation remains, either submerged or surfaced. It is our responsibility to allow it to move through us or this sensation has the power to immobilize us, so the idea is this ~ how do we manage the inevitability of discomfort and why should we?
Let's cycle back to the idea of potential and sensation. Society tends to support the idea of numbing pain or sensation (i.e. activities with minimal mindfulness, with the medication of blanketed symptom treatment for all, or the involuntary autopilot mode that governs day-to-day living due to stringent routines) yet selectively numbing is not possible. When we numb or submerge sensation, we disconnect from the potential of both ends of the spectrum... the shadow qualities and the lovely light qualities we tend to favor.
When discomfort is submerged, we're helpless. Fortunately, when discomfort is surfaced... when we allow ourselves to experience the discomfort, we have more power.... more autonomy to decide what to do with that potential.
Hone in on your power and open yourself to lovely light qualities by honoring the shadow.
