My favorite visualizations are grounding exercises. They serve as a quick way to check in and disconnect from the stress of day-to-day life. As you read through these instructions, engage in the exercise!
First, start by listening to the sound of the breath. It feels great to start by taking an inhale in through the nose really expanding the belly and sigh everything out. Ideally, you would want your feet touching the ground. This gives you a deeper connection to the sensation of the soles of your feet.
Now, take a nice big inhale while bringing your attention to the soles of your feet. Then, on the exhale visualize tree roots extending from the soles of your feet to the center of the Earth. As you visualize this extension, feel a weight releasing from the shoulders and allow the elbows to hang heavy. Finish by wiggling the toes spreading all ten of the toes and press into all four corners of the feet then role the neck.
