I deal with insecurities, worries, doubts, and the feelings of lack. There are days when I just don't feel like myself and I have to push myself to get through the day. There was a time when I felt so overwhelmed, I would isolate myself and I lost important relationships in my life. I have this thing... ever since I was younger, I would isolate myself every time I felt a sense of lack. I would feel a sense of lack through comparison... thinking I wasn't as good as the next person. This is a personal struggle that I constantly deal with.
Now, why would I be sharing this with you? Secrets have power over you. When issues are kept a secret, it can take a form on its own. It can start to dictate your choice of words and actions that you feel in your heart isn't right. There's a collective thought that sharing less is better and that concealment shows strength. I'm here to tell you that it's quite the opposite. Concealment is a false sense of strength. It takes more energy to conceal. It takes more energy out of you to conceal a secret than to express your truth.
I'm sharing my personal struggle because I know I'm not alone and I want to reassure you that if you're ever feeling lonely about a personal struggle, you aren't alone either! The practice of meditation and yoga helps me experience my struggle as a strength. My practice is what inspires me to keep pushing through because I know I'll be able to make it through whatever struggle and regardless, I'll be celebrating. The life I have and the life you have is worth celebrating.
